ANGEL CRISP COOKIES 
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream sugar, shortening, egg, and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and cream of tartar and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Form into walnut-sized balls. Dip top into water then into granulated sugar. Press down center with finger. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees in oven.
