MOMS' SOUR CREAM RAISIN PIE | |
2 eggs 3/4 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. cloves 1 c. sour cream 1 c. raisins Beat the eggs and add sugar, salt and spices. Combine with sour cream and raisins. Pour into pastry shell. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes then, turn down oven and bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Can top with whipped cream when cool to serve or top with meringue. MERINGUE: 4 egg whites 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 6 tbsp. white sugar Beat until stiff the egg whites and cream of tartar. Add 6 tablespoons of sugar and gently fold in. Spread to crust forming a seal on warm pie. Bake at 425 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. WATCH so it doesn't burn. |
