1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix shortening, sugar, salt, baking powder, milk, vanilla, egg yolk and flour together. Then beat egg white and put into the other mixture. Then pour into buttered and floured 9"x10" pan. Bake at 350 degrees until knife comes out clean.
