OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. self - rising flour
3 c. quick Quaker oatmeal

Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, blend well. Sift flour and add to cream mixture, stirring well, then add oatmeal. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes or until brown. Makes 5 dozen or more.
