ITALIAN MEATBALLS
1 lb. ground beef
1 egg
4 slices white bread (can be changed if preferred)
small handful of grated cheese
2 tbsp. garlic powder (or 2 garlic cloves, minced)
2 tbsp. onion powder (or 1/4 large onion, minced)

Combine all ingredients (moisten the bread with water) in a mixing bowl and toss together gently until mixture is somewhat uniform. Do not squeeze the meat in order to prevent dryness. Form into balls, about 2 to 3 inches in diameter.

Frying: Place meatballs in a frying pan, no oil is needed. Brown completely.

Baking: Place meatballs on a cookie sheet and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes or until browned.

When meatballs are thoroughly cooked, place in a pot of your favorite tomato sauce and simmer for at least 45 minutes. This will give the sauce some meat flavor and keep the meatballs from drying out.
