CHEESE STYLED MEAT LOAF | |
1 (8 oz.) pkg. sliced American cheese 2 eggs, slightly beaten 2 lbs. ground beef 1 c. milk 1 c. rolled oats 3/4 c. chopped onions 2 tbsp. minced green peppers 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. mustard Cut cheese slices in half diagonally. Reserve half of cheese triangles. Chop remaining cheese finely. Combine cheese, eggs, ground beef, milk, oats, onions, green peppers and seasonings; mix well. Press beef mixture into greased loaf pan. Invert pan onto foil covered shallow baking pan. Remove loaf from pan. Fold foil up around meat loaf to hold juices. Bake at 375 degrees for about 1 hour or until beef is done. Remove foil from around meat loaf. Overlap remaining cheese triangles on top of loaf. Return to oven long enough to melt cheese. |
