3 eggs
1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. orange juice
1 lb. dates, cut up
2 c. nuts, chopped
1 sm. jar maraschino cherries
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk

Mix 1 cup flour with nuts, cherries and dates; set aside. Sift rest of flour with soda and salt; cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, orange juice and vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Add cherries, nuts and dates. Bake in 10" tube pan. Start in cold oven at 350 degrees. Bake 1 1/2 hours.
