OATMEAL MACAROONS 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. regular sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. nuts

Mix thoroughly the shortening, sugar, vanilla and eggs. Sift together the flour, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg and add to mixture. Fold in rolled oats and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
