WINTER'S BEST GINGERSNAPS | |
3/4 c. shortening 3/4 c. butter 2 c. sugar 1/2 c. molasses 2 eggs 4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cloves 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. ginger Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs and molasses. Sift all dry ingredients together and gradually mix with creamed batter. Beat hard. Roll pieces of dough into 1-inch balls in palm of hand. Then roll each ball in additional sugar. Place 3-inches apart on greased (lightly) cookie sheets and bake 12 to 15 minutes at 375°F. Let stand 1 minute after removal from oven before taking from cookie sheet. |
