BILL'S FAVORITE LASAGNA | |
1 1/2 lb. ground round 1/2 lb. ground sausage, mild 1 tbsp. Italian seasoning 1 tsp. onion salt 1 tsp. garlic salt 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste and 1/2 can water 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce 9 lasagna noodles 3 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese 8 oz. Ricotta cheese Brown ground round and ground sausage in large saucepan. Drain well. Return to medium heat and add seasonings, blending well into meats. Add tomato paste and water and stir until sauce has thoroughly coated meat mixture. Add tomato sauce and blend well. Cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, until thickened. In the meantime, cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and rinse with cool water and set aside to continue draining. Mix 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese with 8 ounces Ricotta cheese. Set aside. Remove sauce from heat and prepare lasagna in layers as follows: 3 noodles Sauce mixture Ricotta mixture 1 c. Mozzarella Repeat this process two more times. Then take remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese and sprinkle on top. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand for 15 minutes to make cutting easier. |
