PARKER HOUSE ROLLS 
1 pkg. yeast
6 tbsp. sugar
1 3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. melted shortening
3/4 c. lukewarm water
3/4 c. milk, scald & cool
5 1/4 c. plain flour
1 egg, beaten well

Soften yeast in the warm milk. Add salt, shortening, sugar and water. Add 3 cups of the flour, a little at a time. Beat with electric beater until light and fluffy. Put rest of the flour in a big bowl and in a warm place. Let rise until double in bulk. Then knead until real smooth and make into small pieces. Grease a pan and put them in. Then melt some butter, brush top then let rise again until double in size. Then bake in hot oven at 450 degrees for 15 or 18 minutes.
