SAUERKRAUT AND DUMPLINGS 
Sauerkraut
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. melted lard

While sauerkraut and water are cooking in kettle, sift in bowl the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to flour mixture the egg, milk, and melted lard. Mix and drop dumpling mixture by spoon on top of sauerkraut. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
