FRUIT CAKE 
1 lb. butter
1 lb. sugar (2 c.)
6 eggs, separated
3 c. pecans
1/2 lb. candied green cherries
1/4 lb. candied pineapple
1 1/2 oz. vanilla
1 lb. plain flour (4 c.)
1/2 lb. candied red cherries

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and flour. Add vanilla, cherries, pineapple and pecans. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees then 7 minutes at 350 degrees.
