APPLE COFFEECAKE 
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
4 lg. cooking apples, pared, cored & thinly sliced

In a small bowl, mix sugar, nuts and cinnamon. In a mixing bowl cream butter, add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and slowly add to batter alternately with sour cream. Spread half of batter in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Top with apples and half of nut mixture. Spread evenly with remaining batter and rest of nut mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
