MARKO'S FUDGE PIE 
1 (9 in.) unbaked pie shell
5 3/4 oz. butter
3 3/4 oz. bittersweet chocolate
3/4 c. light Karo syrup
11 oz. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs at room temperature

Melt butter on low heat; add chocolate. Stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Add Karo syrup and bring to a boil. In a bowl mix sugar and slat well. Add hot chocolate mixture and stir. Beat in eggs; add vanilla. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake in 300 degrees oven for one hour or until firm. Cool completely and serve topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
