BRANDIED PEARS 
6 pears, peeled, cored
2 c. red wine
2 whole cloves
1 sm. stick cinnamon, broken
1/2 c. sugar
2 oz. Brandy

Place whole pears and wine in saucepan. Add cloves, cinnamon and sugar. Simmer until pears are tender. Place pears in serving bowl. Remove cloves and cinnamon from hot syrup. Stir in brandy. Heat gently for 1 minute. Pour over pears.
