SAUCE FOR ROAST BEEF | |
1 1/3 c. apple juice 4 tsp. cornstarch 1 c. catsup 1 med. onion, chopped 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. celery seed 1/2 tsp. turmeric 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce 3 1/2 - 8 lb. beef roast Mix 2 tablespoons apple juice with cornstarch. Combine the rest of the apple juice with catsup in saucepan. Add onion, salt, celery seed, turmeric, and Tabasco. Cook 15 minutes. Gradually add apple juice-cornstarch mixture. Cook 5 minutes longer. Roast beef at 325 degrees for about 35 minutes per pound. Baste roast with mixture for last 30 minutes. |
