YEAST ROLLS AND BREAD | |
5 c. self rising flour 1/4 c. sugar 1 pkg. yeast 1/2 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. water 1. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. 2. Sift flour and sugar together. Cut in shortening. 3. Add yeast and water, stir until elastic like strands form. 4. Place dough in greased bowl, let rise for 30 minutes or double in bulk. 5. Place dough on floured board, divide and put in 2 pans, let rise for 45 minutes or double in bulk. 6. Bake in preheated oven, 450 degrees, for 15 minutes or until brown. |
