CARAMEL CLUSTERS 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
4 c. Kix cereal

Heat butter in heavy 3-quart saucepan over low heat until melted. Stir in sugar (mixture will be very granular). Stir frequently with wooden spoon 4 to 5 minutes while mixture melts and begins to turn golden (sugar and butter may separate). Continue cooking, cooking 1 to 2 minutes until mixture is light golden and no longer granular. (Mixture still may be separated; do not over cook); remove from heat. Quickly add cereal. Mix until cereal is completely coated. Immediately spread on ungreased cookie sheet. Cool completely; break into bite size pieces. Store in airtight container. Makes about 6 cups.
