OATMEAL CAKE 
CAKE:

1 c. oatmeal
1 stick butter
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

TOPPING:

1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped walnuts

Mix first 3 cake ingredients and set aside. Mix the balance of cake ingredients, then combine with the first mixture. Bake in 9x13 inch pan 35 minutes at 350 degrees.

For a bundt pan, make 1 1/2 batch and bake about 50 minutes. Let cool slightly before removing from pan.

Mix topping ingredients and put on top of cake. Put under broiler until bubbly and brown. For a bundt pan, no need to increase topping amount.
