PEANUT BUTTER CUPCAKES 
2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 c. milk

Sift flour, baking powder, salt. Cream shortening with 1 cup brown sugar. Add vanilla, beat until fluffy. Add peanut butter and mix thoroughly. Beat eggs until light and beat in remaining sugar. Add to creamed mixture and blend well. Add sifted dry ingredients and milk alternately in small amounts, beating thoroughly after each addition. Pour in greased cup cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes 18. See Peanut butter frosting.
