GRANDMOTHER'S SWEET BREAD 
1 c. warm water
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 tbsp. salt
1/2 to 3/8 c. sugar
1 tbsp. sour cream
1 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. raisins

Preheat oven to 350. Mix first 7 ingredients beginning with flour. Blend until dough can be handled. Let rise to double in size. Knead again and add raisins. Shape into loaves. Let rise to double in size.

Bake at 350°F until brown.
