LEONA'S BROWN BREAD | |
1 qt. buttermilk 4 level tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 3 c. whole wheat flour (can add nuts & raisins) 1 c. molasses 1 c. sugar 2 c. white flour Beat together buttermilk, molasses, soda, sugar and salt. Beat flour into liquid mixture. Bake in 9 x 13 inch flat pan or 3 loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or 1 hour. Test for doneness by sticking toothpick in, if comes out clean it is done. |
