SPICY BEEF STEW 
2 lbs. beef, cut into 1" cubes
3/4 c. flour
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. sage
Oil or fat to brown meat
6 med. potatoes in cubes
3 carrots, in 1" slices
1 lg. onion, cut into 1/4ths
Water

Combine first 6 ingredients. Roll meat in flour mixture; brown. Put in large pan and cover with water. Add onion and cook 1/2 hour. Add potatoes and carrots and cook until tender. Mix remaining flour mixture with 1/2 cup water. Stir into stew and stir gently until thickened. Delicious when served with home made biscuits.
