PECAN COOKIES (Or Walnut
Cookies)
 
1/2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
1 c. soft butter (1/2 lb. or 2 sticks)
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. pecans or walnuts, finely chopped

Add sugar to butter slowly and cream thoroughly. Add remaining ingredients. Blend well. Chill. Shape into balls about the size of marbles. Roll into half moon shapes. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes at 305 degrees until just brown. Remove from the pan at once, then carefully roll in sifted powdered sugar until well coated. (Use approximately 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar for rolling.)
