NAN'S RANCH BISCUITS | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water 5 c. all-purpose flour (white or whole wheat) 1/2 c. sugar 2 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. salt 1/3 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. shortening (Crisco) Mix yeast and warm water in a large bowl. Add all other ingredients and stir until well mixed. May need a little more flour if dough is sticky. Put saran wrap over bowl and put in refrigerator until ready to roll out. Put in well greased pan to bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 2 dozen. This recipe will keep in refrigerator and can be baked as needed. These biscuits are halfway between rolls and biscuits and are delicious. |
