FUDGE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. water
2 foil-wrapped bars (4 oz.) Nestle unsweetened chocolate baking bars
2/3 c. butter, softened
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. sugar, divided
3 eggs
3/4 c. milk
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In small saucepan, combine water, 1/2 cup sugar and Nestle unsweetened chocolate baking bars. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat; set aside.

In large mixer bowl, beat remaining 1 1/4 cups sugar, butter and vanilla extract until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in chocolate mixture. Gradually add flour mixture alternately with milk.

Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch round baking pans. Bake 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans. Cool completely. Fill and frost with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. Makes 8-10 servings.
