COUNTRY FRIED STEAK | |
5 pieces cubed steak Flour 1 c. boiling water Shortening Salt and pepper to taste In a large, heavy pan melt small amount of shortening. Coat steak in flour and season with salt and pepper. When shortening is hot, add steak and brown. When browned evenly on both sides, pour in boiling water. Cover and reduce heat to low. Continue cooking until tender. If gravy is not thick enough, add a little more flour. |
