HAM AND SWEET POTATOES CASSEROLE 
1 1/2 lbs. slice uncooked ham
3 med. sweet potatoes or yams, peeled and quartered
Salt
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 300°F.

Put the ham in shallow casserole and pour in 2 cups hot water. Arrange sweet potato quarters in casserole pan. Sprinkle salt, sugar and place butter around and add lemon juice.

Bake for 1 hour or until the sweet potatoes are tender and candied. Baste with the juice while cooking, adding water if needed.

Serve in same dish.
