NAVY BEANS 
2 c. navy beans
6 c. cold water
1 med. onion, chopped
1/4 c. chopped parsley
3 tbsp. sugar
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 lb. salt pork, cubed (or leftover ham)
1 1/2 tsp. salt

Wash and pick over beans. Combine all ingredients in a large covered saucepan. Cook for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Serves 8. Slice baked ham and serve as a main course.
