KRAUT AND SAUSAGE 
1 lg. sliced apple
3 cloves garlic
3 tbsp. caraway seed
1 qt. jar shredded sauerkraut, drained & rinsed
1/2 c. dry white wine or vermouth
2 lbs. smoked sausage

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In heavy oven proof casserole, place sliced apple and garlic. Add kraut mixed with caraway seeds. Top with sausage and pour wine over. Cover and bake 1 1/2 hours. Yield: 8 to 12 servings.
