PEPPER STEAK | |
2 tbsp. shortening 1 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. catsup 3 tbsp. soy sauce 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 bouillon cube, beef 1 clove minced garlic 1/2 c. finely chopped onion 1 lb. round steak, cut into sm. bite size cubes 1 box fresh mushrooms 2 lg. peppers, cut into rings 2 med. onions, cut into rings Brown meat in shortening; remove. Blend flour into the shortening from which the meat was removed. Add catsup, water, soy sauce, pepper, bouillon cube, minced garlic, and chopped onion. Bring to boil, lower heat to simmer for 20 minutes. Drop meat into sauce and cook only until tender. Ten minutes before serving, add fresh mushrooms cut up, pepper, and onion rings. Cook until crisply tender. Serve on hot fluffy rice. |
