BACHELOR'S STEAK 
2 sm. single serving steaks (rib, rib eye, strip, T-bone)
1 garlic clove, halved
1 (2 to 2 1/2 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
1/4 to 1/3 c. beer
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper

Rub meat with cut surface of garlic. Broil 2-3 inches from heat until as done as desired. Meanwhile, drain mushroom liquid into measuring cup. Add enough beer to measure 2/3 cup total liquid.

Pour 2 tablespoons steak drippings into a saucepan; stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Stir in beer mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth. Add drained mushrooms; heat through.

Pour beer-mushroom sauce over steak and potatoes.
