1 white or yellow cake mix
1 c. sugar
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 box pudding (instant or cooked)
4 bananas
1 lg. Cool Whip
1 c. pecans
1 1/2 c. coconut

Prepare cake according to directions. While cooking cake, pour pineapple with juice and sugar into saucepan; heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Pour hot mixture over cake as soon as it comes out of oven. Cool cake.

While cake is cooling, prepare pudding. When cake is cool, slice bananas over pineapple. Pour pudding over bananas. Mix Cool Whip, coconut and pecans together and pour over pudding. Chill and serve.
