MEXICAN CORNBREAD WITH MEAT 
1 1/2 lbs. ground round
1 c. cornmeal
1 c. milk
1 can cream style corn
2 cans green chilies
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 lg. onion
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 lb. cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 c. bacon drippings

Brown hamburger meat with onion. Combine cornmeal, milk, corn, bacon drippings, salt, soda and eggs in a mixing bowl. In an iron skillet pour enough of batter to cover bottom of pan. Layer meat, then cheese and then green chilies. Cover with remaining batter. Cook for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
