TAMALE PIE 
2 lbs. lean chopped meat
1 onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, diced
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. oil
1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
1 can corn, drained
1 c. water
1/2 c. cornmeal
Salt & pepper to taste

Saute onion, garlic and pepper. Add meat and brown 20 minutes. Add cumin, chili powder, canned corn, tomatoes, etc. Mix well. Put 1 cup water with cornmeal. Mix. Add all ingredients together. Place in large casserole.

PIE TOPPING:

1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. canned milk
1 c. grated Sharp Cheddar
1/2 c. cornmeal
2 eggs, slightly beaten

Heat milk and add cornmeal until thick. Stir constantly. Remove from heat. Add cheese, eggs and butter. Pour over casserole. Bake at 350 degrees 45 minutes.
