DATE ROLL CANDY 
2 1/2 or 3 c. sugar
1 c. milk
Butter size of walnut
1 box of dates
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook until a soft ball forms in cold water; stir constantly. Remove from heat. Add 1 cup chopped pecans and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until hard enough to roll in a damp towel. Cool thoroughly in towel and slice when needed.
