1 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. butter
5 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts (optional)

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes. Makes 160 cookies.
