SOFT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 lb. butter
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 (12 oz.) pkg. real milk chocolate chips
Nuts, optional

Combine butter and sugar, beat 10 minutes. Add eggs, beat 3 minutes. Add vanilla, flour, soda, salt and chocolate chips. Beat until well mixed. Shape into 1 inch balls on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool on wire rack. Store in tight container with a slice of bread. Makes approximately 8 dozen.
