"NEW ORLEANS" RED BEANS & RICE 
1 bag red kidney beans
1 pkg. Mom & Pop country ham slices (pull fat off)
1 can Contadina tomato sauce
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. garlic powder
Salt & pepper
1 tbsp. oil

Wash beans. Put in large pot. Cover with 1 1/2 inches of water. Add all ingredients. Stir up and bring to a boil. Turn down to medium-low. Cook on low heat for 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Add water as needed. Keep thick. Serve with cooked rice.
