HUNGARIAN COFFEE CAKE | |
3 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. butter, softened 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs, well beaten 1 c. buttermilk 1/2 c. nut meats Mix the first four ingredients like pie crust. Take out 1 cup and save for topping. Add the salt and soda to the remaining crumbs and mix well. Add the beaten eggs and buttermilk. Next put the mixture into a 9"x13" pan. Take the saved crumbs and sprinkle on the top with 1/2 cup nutmeats. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. May be served warm or cool with a dot of whipped cream on it. |
