PECAN CRESCENTS 
Excellent melt in your mouth cookie, Christmas cookie.

1 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. finely chopped pecans
1 1/3 c. flour
About 1/2 c. granulated sugar

Cream butter, confectioners' sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Stir in pecans. Gradually stir in flour until well blended. Cover, chill 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.

Divide dough in 8 equal parts. On a lightly floured board, roll each piece in 1/2 inch wide ropes. Cut 1 3/4 inch lengths, taper ends, then shape in crescent. Place one inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 300 degree oven 18 to 20 minutes or until light golden and firm to touch. While warm, roll in granulated sugar. Place on racks to cool. (They don't have to be warm when coated.) Makes about 60 cookies. Keep in tin. Keeps well over holidays and after.
