MAN-PLEASING BEEF STEW 
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. each basil, savory & marjoram
1 1/2 - 2 tbsp. beef stew
1 lg. onion, sliced
1 lb. 13 oz. (3 1/2 c.) canned tomatoes
6 carrots, halved
6 sm. zucchini, sliced
1 can mushrooms or 1/2 lb. fresh
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. flour
6 tbsp. bacon drippings
14 oz. lemon lime carbonated beverage
1 beef bouillon cube
6 med. sized potatoes, quartered
12 oz. can whole kernel corn

Combine salt, pepper, herbs and flour. Coat meat in mixture. Brown slowly in bacon drippings; add onion, cooking until golden brown. Stir in remaining flour, add lemon lime beverage, tomatoes and bouillon cube, stirring well. Cook until thickened. Cover and simmer on stove top, or bake at 325 degrees about 2 1/2 hours. Add carrots and potatoes about 1 hour before meat is done. Add zucchini, corn and mushrooms about 1/2 hour before meat is done.
