OLD FASHIONED JELLY ROLL | |
3 eggs 2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. water 1 tsp. vanilla Jelly - any flavor 3/4 c. enriched flour Beat eggs until light, add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add water and vanilla - stir until smooth. Sift dry ingredients together and add gradually to eggs and sugar. Bake in a lightly greased 12 x 15 inch jelly roll pan that has been lined with wax paper. Bake in a moderate oven - 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Turn out immediately onto a clean tea towel sprinkled with confectioners' sugar and remove wax paper. Spread with jelly, jam or marmalade, then roll while still warm and let stand until the cake is set. Sprinkle top of roll with confectioners' sugar. |
