My husband went gaga over this wonderful recipe. I've been making bread pudding all of our 45 years of married life and THIS is the happiest it's ever made him... something to do with the vanilla sauce I'm sure!

There is no words for how good this bread pudding tastes! I made this bread pudding 3 days in a row. I couldn't keep it - everyone loved it too much to keep it in the house! Best dessert I've ever tasted. I did use raisins and coconut. Delicious!

This recipe was delicious. I omitted the raisins because everyone in my family hates raisins. It was rich and comforting to eat on a cold night. And the vanilla sauce was divine. However, I would add the vanilla extract while it's boiling, otherwise it doesn't give it a chance to cook down and there's a strong alcohol taste to the sauce otherwise.

Love this recipe! It really taste like what my grandmother made when I was a young girl. I can not wait to make it for my daddy! Sometimes my grandmother would add coconut and raisins, which was very good too!
