THE BEST BRISKET | |
1 lg. brisket Liquid Smoke Worcestershire sauce Soy sauce Garlic, onion & celery salt BARBEQUE SAUCE: 1/4 c. vinegar 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. catsup 1 tsp. mustard 1 tsp. minced onion 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp. soy sauce Marinate brisket overnight with liquid smoke, Worcestershire and soy sauce, sprinkled on both sides with garlic salt, onion salt and celery salt. (Wrap in heavy duty foil to marinate and bake.) Put brisket in foil on a rack in a roaster with water in the bottom of the roaster pan and roast at 350 degrees for four hours. Lower oven temperature to 250 degrees and cover top of meat with barbeque sauce and roast until very tender for about 1 1/2 hours. Slice into pieces and serve with warmed leftover barbeque sauce. |
