WILD RICE CASSEROLE | |
1 c. wild rice 1 lb. bulk pork sausage 1 lb. ground beef 1/4 c. uncooked white rice 2 sticks celery, chopped 1 med. onion, chopped 1/2 green pepper, chopped 2 carrots, grated 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 3 tbsp. soy sauce 2 c. cream of chicken, mushroom soup 1 c. chicken gumbo soup 2 soup cans water Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste Wash wild rice, bring to a boil in 4 cups of water. Turn off heat, let soak for 1 hour. Brown pork sausage and beef; drain. In large casserole or roaster combine other ingredients. Add meat and rice. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until rice is tender. May also be cooked in crock pot for 6-8 hours. |
