CHICKEN AND RICE CASSEROLE | |
1 1/2 c. uncooked rice (excellent with wild rice) 12 chicken breasts or 1 whole chicken or 1 1/2 lb. hamburger (cooked meat) 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 can cream of celery soup Rinse each can with 2/3 can water 1 can mushrooms and juice 1/2 c. slivered almonds 1/2 pkg. onion soup mix 1 stick butter Combine all soups and water in saucepan; add onion soup mix. Heat to blend together. Grease large baking dish with butter and add rest to soup mix. Put meat and rice in casserole. Add soup mixture and sprinkle the mushrooms and juice over. Top with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 3 hours. |
