NEVER FAIL POUND CAKE 
3 sticks good butter
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. lemon extract

Cream butter. Add sugar, one cup at a time. Cream until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat smooth. Add lemon extract. Add flour and milk alternately. Beat until smooth.

Grease and flour an angel food pan. Pour in batter. Cover with cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Remove cookie sheet and bake an additional 15 minutes to brown.
