BEANS AND FRANKS CORNBREAD BAKE 
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/3 c. chopped green pepper
1/3 c. chopped onions
2 (16 oz.) cans pork and beans
4-6 sliced frankfurters
1/4 c. barbecue sauce
1 1/4 c. cornmeal
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 slightly beaten egg

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet. Saute peppers and onion until tender. Add beans, franks and barbecue sauce. Cook uncovered for 5 minutes, heated through. Spread into a 7x11 inch greased glass baking dish.

For topping, combine all other ingredients with the remaining 3 tablespoons oil; pour over top of bean mixture and bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Makes 6-8 servings.
